I just become obsessed with figuring out how to bring that idea to life. Sometimes I'm not even sure where it comes from, others it just doesn't go as expected.

I have learnt over the years that getting out into nature and seeing what comes is the best form of inspiration. Reading, travel and exposure to other artists is also a part of my practise. With all of my art I want the viewer to look deeper. To really think about the levels and varied meanings associated with the subjects composition and placement. I will often use a variety of resources to create the one subject or composition. With a background in graphic design, I often do this in Photoshop to ensure balance and harmony of the elements, as well as scale before sketching out the piece to be painted.
